peng (of Kurtz + peng) Will Be Exhibiting in Group Show at Projects Gallery

peng has been selected to exhibit one of his "industrial landscapes" at a juried group show in the Projects Gallery in Philadelphia. Gallery director Helen Meyrick was the juror. Information is as below:

Juried Exhibition to Prevent Domestic Abuse and Violence

Iao PROJECTS (http://www.iao-gallery.com/index4.html) and Iao: Acme Burger Company (http://www.artslant.com/ew/venues/show/3971-iao-acme-
burger-company) is doing a memorial exhibit for Lori Hacking at Iao PROJECTS for January 2010 to show our willingness to prevent domestic violence in Utah and throughout the nation. 

To submit to the Lori Hacking exhibition, please send the following items below which is connected to Lori Hacking or the case

Each entry must include the following: 

1) a copy of the thumbnail (JPEGS) on the CD being mailed 
2) your contact information: name, address, phone number, e-mail 
3) any gallery representing your work 
4) the piece itself as shown in the thumbnail not measuring larger than 24" x 36" 
5) specs of the pieces as a text file on the CD including name, dimensions, medium and year created. 

Note that all pieces submitted will be donated for the cause and will be exhibited at Iao: Acme Burger Company venue in December 2009. The proceeds from the sold works will be donated to the Lori Hacking Scholarship Fund and unsold work will be returned. All pieces must relate to the Lori Hacking case. The artist can interpret this any way possible. Also the competition is free to enter.

The official juror for this competition will be Megan Hildebrandt, an artist represented through Iao PROJECTS. Hildebrandt is a visual and performance artist who currently lives as a Resident Artist at the Creative Alliance at the Patterson Theatre in Baltimore, MD. In 2006, she was awarded on an artist fellowship aboard the Artrain USA, a traveling art museum housed in railway cars. Since 2005, Hildebrandt has exhibited and performed her work both locally and nationally, including exhibitions at the Metropolitan Center For The Visual Arts in Gaithersburg, Maryland, The Art League of Northern California, and the Ann Arbor Transit Authority in Ann Arbor, Michigan. In October, 2007, Hildebrandt curated her first exhibition the Creative Alliance. In January of 2008, Hildebrandt will exhibit at the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Portland, Oregon. Most recently, Hildebrandt received a Mid-Atlantic Regional Winner Award from New American Paintings, and will have her work published in their forthcoming Mid-Atlantic Region 2008 issue.

This exhibition will be juried for content and the deadline for submission will be November 30, 2009. A prize of $100 will be given by the art juror to the 
best entry and this will be announced by January 2, 2010 by e-mail. Thanks for your consideration and thanks for helping us to work for a good cause
